Description
Mishkat al-Masabih is the improved version of Masabih al-Sunnah. It contains 4434 to 5945 ahadith, divided up amongst 29 books and is considered by Sunni scholars as an important writing. An example of a hadith from Mishkat al-Masabih is as follows: The Mishkat has enjoyed wide popularity in the world of Islamic learning since 516 AH when it was first compiled by Waliuddin Abu Abdullah Mahmud Al-Tabrizi. Al-Tabrizi has identified at the end of every Hadith the source or sources from where the particular Hadith was taken. Thus, by doing so, he managed to overcome shortcoming of not mentioning the isnad (chain of authorities of the Hadith). Most of the Hadith are from the Sahih Sitta. (the six Authentic Hadith Books). Mishkat Al-Masabih is a prominent book of hadith and infect a combination of two books: a) Masabih As-Sunnah b) Mishkat. It is one of the top most books of ahadith and is taught in various Madaris as a text book. It is one of the reason that the people of knowledge have written many commentaries on it. It is also important for one who reads Mishkat to also read about the Asma wa Ar-Rijal which is also discussed in this book towards the end. The Mishkat al-Masabih of Imam Waliuddin Abu Abdullah Mahmud Tabrizi is a comprehensive book on hadith taught around the world to students of the subject, especially in the Subcontinent where it is studied before the six famous collections, to be able to prepare for them. Most of the hadith contained in it are from the Sihah Sitta [The six Authentic compilations of Hadith] مشکوٰۃ المصابیح حدیث کی ایک معروف کتاب ہے۔ جسے اس کی تالیف کے دور سے ہی اس قدرشرفِ قبولیت حاصل ہے کہ بہت سےدینی مدارس میں یہ کتاب شامل نصاب ہے ۔کتاب کے آخر میں الاکمال فی اسماء الرجال کا اردو ترجمہ بھی شامل ہے جس سے کتاب کی اہمیت و افادیت کو مزید چار چاند لگ گئے ہیں۔ احادیث کی تخریج وتحقیق کا فریضہ عصر حاضر کےعظیم محقق علامہ حافظ زبیر علی زئی رحمہ اللہ نے عرق ریزی سے سرانجام دیا ہے ۔
